I have a 2009 Nissan Murano which I connected my Iphone 6 to and works fine regarding phone calls but will not play music no matter what I try, any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a 2009 Nissan Murano which works great with my IPhone 6 plus as to phone calls making and receiving! However it refuses to play music through the blutooth no matter what I try, I assume the car is to old for carplay, I have never had a problem playing music from other phones Android, Windows etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello britman98,

If you're having trouble getting music to play back through your car's stereo you might want to first check to make sure that your iPhone is set to utilize the car's head unit for audio output when playing music. You can do so by playing some music while it's connected via Bluetooth to your car, then swiping up from the bottom to access Control Center. Once you have Control Center open, swipe left to access your audio controls, and then change the audio output at the bottom.

Control audio. Swipe Control Center left to quickly reach audio controls.

If you set up your iPhone with Bluetooth speakers, headphones, or another device, tap to switch the output. For information about setting up iPhone with devices using Bluetooth, see Bluetooth devices.

Thanks for the update. It may very well be that your vehicles head unit only supports the HFP (Hands-Free Profile) over Bluetooth ( iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles ), which would restrict it to passing phone calls over your sounds system. Fortunately there is a 30-pin to Lightning adapter that should allow you to connect to your car's sound system via the cable you've mentioned.

Thanks for your reply MoonJ I have tried your suggestions, the first part anyway, with the control center and the control center doesn't give me a choice of outputs IPhone only is the only one listed! I will try the second part and see what that does. The car came with a short cable that plugs into the center console with the old 30pin connector on one end. Maybe there's an adapter out there I can buy and do it that way. What do you think?
