Preview of youtube/any links not showing in imessage

Hey. So I have an iPhone 6s and it's got the latest ios installed (10.2). In my iMessage, no previews show up anymore. I have restored my phone, rebooted everything, logged in and out of iMessage/App store/iCloud/iTunes,etc., but still hasn't worked. How do I fix this?

Hello ycr_407,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to see previews of links received in iMessage, even after troubleshooting this issue yourself. At this point, we would like you to reinstall iOS on your iPhone; this will help us isolate the situation further. Reinstalling iOS should not affect any of your data, but it is always a best practice to make sure you have a current backup in either iTunes or iCloud.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Once you have a current backup, follow the steps from the "If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up" section in this article:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on

These steps will reinstall iOS. Keep in mind that these steps were written for a different issue, but they will still help us isolate the situation further. If you're still having this issue after completing these steps, please contact AppleCare for further support on your issue.

I work with a company that sends iMessages from their iOS application. We noticed recently that our messages with links are not clickable and do not show either the web sites favicon or previews.

After doing some testing, we have determined that the problem is as follows: (I would love to have someone from apple confirm these findings)

When someone sends a message to a user using iMessage. If the receiver is on iOS 10.2 and does not have the sender in their address book, the links are not clickable. The work around, which is not a good one, is to have the receiver add sender to their address book. Once completed, even older received messages become clickable.
