iDVD is freezing during a burn.
I have tried various project settings but iDVD freezes at a different spot each time during the burn. Any suggestions?

After spending two days of fruitless searching and umpteen hundred retries on burning a disc, I stumbled on my solution from Old Toad in Jan 2016. Being smart I included a small movie as the intro to dvd but no voiceover. Old Toad said to check the sound - I did - deleted the file as the burn sequence was looking for an audio file that did not exist - Bam duplexing continued from the blocked part and I now watching DVD.
I reinstalled iDVD after upgrading to Sierra - some o the good old things still work - tries doing it in Toast but not as professional looking.
Despite Apples' push on every thing in the cloud sometimes you still need to burn - in may case a fundraiser DVD of my YouTube channel videos!
Onwards and upwards - thanks to Old Toad too
FWIW you can create a silent audio track with an audio editing app or Garageband and add it to any video/movie track that hasn't got one with Quicktime Player 7 and Quicktime Pro. I'm sure there are other video editors out there that could add an audio track to a movie file. You could ask in the iMovie forum.
Hi Old Toad! Similar issue, can't burn disc image even, seems to hang up when rendering menus? And not sure I understand "create a new project in the current project"? I have an iDVD project file I need to encode, any help is appreciated, thanks!
Hi,
Adding to Old Toad's response, try going back to iMovie and sharing out your movie at 480 or 540. Delete the old movie from your iDVD project. Drag the newly shared movie into iDVD. Go to Advanced/Delete encoded assets. Try to burn again. I had the same issue as you, and the above solved it for me.

Don't burn directly from iDVD to disk. Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
Thanks for your help.
It froze during the video encoding process. How can I resolve that?
TY
1 - create a new project with the same media files in the current project and see if it will encoded.
2 - read Bengt Wärleby's post regarding encoding and multiplexing. It might has some tips regarding your situation: Multiplexing Error
Maybe I should have phrased as follows:
1 - create a new project with the same media files infrom the current project
