Final Cut Pro: Blu-ray Sharing Video Image Problem

Hi, I've been putting together some family videos (recently shot 1080p videos) onto blu-rays using the newly updated Final Cut Pro (10.3.1), and I've noticed one issue I'm not sure how to resolve. When I view the blu-ray through any source the video image brightness has been boosted up significantly to where the whites are completely washed out in some shots, and the blacks have a constant noticeable grain. I don't know if I probably have the wrong settings:

(1) The videos are shot in 1080p; rate: 30p

(2) The Final Cut project properties are at: 1080p HD, 1920x1080, 30p; with rendering codec on Apple ProRes 422 HQ

These are the same settings I've used in the past and haven't had this issue before. As far as I can tell I'm doing everything the same way I have done in the past. I appreciate any help with this.
