Use the "Remove" function within Etrecheck to get rid of the Adware you have installed on the computer. Restart, check for improved performance. Re-run Etrecheck and post back if further issues.

If you have it or had it installed, then it might be legit. Otherwise, I'd say it wasn't.

Define 'legit'

If you had McAfee installed it might be out of date which would make the message legit, if you don't it's not.

Maybe if you post an EtreCheck report, we might be able to help you further with this problem.
