Are animal products or biproducts used in the production of apple products?

A friend told me the other day that different animal products are used in the production of apple products in parts like the glue and oils used. Is this true? If so does anyone know if there is a specific reason the animal products used are better than non animal based products?

I can't imagine much oil of any kind is used in electronics. Maybe the hinges to computers? Even then there are better products that will last the anticipated 5+ years.

Glue? Possibly, but again I would suspect something entirely synthetic would be more robust. Realize we are all just users like yourself and don't work in Apple's factories where we can read from where products come. There's a general contact link at the bottom right of the page where you may find a way to write Apple and ask.

The only thing I can see with a web search (you can do that too!) is a few people complaining Apple Stores carry leather cases for electronics, but since those are usually extra purchases you can avoid them.
