Snooze will stop the alarm at the moment you tap on the Snooze button, and then will play the alarm again in 9 minutes. It usually will allow you to do this multiple times up to an hour.

No - the snooze is exactly that - it allows the user an extra few minutes before the alarm goes off again

There is a setting to remove the snooze option from appearing if you do not want it
