not sure what a CenturyLink Prism is but an appletv is a setup box in the same as a console playstation or xbox it
it connects to a screen that support hdmi and display on the screen
the appletv only works with stuff it can access from the Internet so if your local tv stuff don't have an app you can't access it on the appletv
Hi. Are you trying to login in to Centurylink in one of the Apple TV apps? Normally, this requires you to complete the process by logging in to your provider account using a computer browser. Please describe exactly what you are doing and how it fails.
I am having the same issue. Apps like NBC and ABC require login to tv provider to stream video. I've made numerous attempts via individual app setting and Apple TV settings to log in to my tv provider centurylink. I have double checked my email and password for my centurylink account by logging in to my account online. Each time I enter the centurylink account email and password in Apple TV I receive a "Sign in error invalid username or password please try again" message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Good. Then it sounds like Centurylink aren't supporting Apple TV correctly. Do they have any sort of user support where you might find help, or at least other trouble reports? Cablecos are often not very keen on Apple TV, which they see as a competing set-top box, bypassing the content (and commercials) they already provide.
I was having the exact same issue, until a CL rep over a chat session told me the only way to get your Prism TV to work on the Apple TV, is to create a new centurylink.net email address, this is different than your My Account credentials. Once you have created your new email and password through centurylink.net, you will use those credentials to log in to the single sign on feature of the Apple TV, and all of the supported TV apps. Hope that helps...
I have the same problem. My only possible guess is that I use the same email address for Apple ID and Centurylink prism. That shouldn't mean anything though, and I've entered the password for both out of due diligence.
I'm frustrated by this. I've tried everything I can think of. All passwords. You name it.
APPLE/CEN, HELP US OUT!
You don't connect it to the CenturyLink set top box, you connect the Apple Tv straight to your TV screen via its HDMI port.
The Apple TV has nothing to do with your cable TV subscription service.
Hi. Is Centurylink offered in the list of providers in the apps?
Yes.
