joystick calibration problem

Hello

I can't get a brand new Thrustmaster USB joystick to calibrate properly. The same joystick works fine on a PC.

I tested with X-Plane and WWIIOnline. The issue is that the stick seems centered and stable when calibrating, but as soon as gameplay starts it goes out of whack almost immediately. Is there a preference or setting somewhere in OS X which can be causing this?? I tried USB Overdrive but the games don't seem to like it.

Any help appreciated!

For the longest time I have given up on trying to hook a joystick to a MAC. The PC world now uses wizards and drivers and you can use to hook about any peripheral. In this area the MAC has become the antithisis of plug and play and in my opinion it is a significant failure of the system.

I have the same usb joystick and although the system recognizes the device is connected to a USB port, I have not been able to get any of the aforementioned program/utilities to link up to the stick. Previous versions in OS 9 would show some type of response in the mapping software that would show which button was pushed or what direction the control was moved so it would be mapped. Now nothing.

ANY HELP OUT THERE IN USER LAND CAUSE APPLE SURE AS HECK IS SILENT ON THE ISSUE.

1) Product recommendations for Joystick HOTAS units?

2) Software utility that has actually worked on multiple programs.
