Apple TV 4 Remote keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

Hi Bohica87. Are you using any other Bluetooth devices with intensive data flows? Or maybe 2.4 GHz WiFi? I wonder if you may be experiencing interference causing this. Bluetooth uses the same 2.4 GHz band as WiFi. Normally, this should not be a problem, but there are limits, like Apple TV on top of WiFi router. A wireless phone base station could also do this.

I went into the Apple TV settings, remote and devices, then Bluetooth. From there I unpaired (deleted) all of the devices that were connected, but that I wasn’t using. Seems to have solved the problem.

I experienced very weird disconnects and yes, the wifi router was under the apple TV, once I moved it half a meter and placed a metal case between it and the apple tv all was perfectly fine, thanks a lot.

This resolved the issue for me. I had my ATV4 sitting right next to my router on my mantle.

Hi Drewskeyz. The remote disconnects after a while (5 or 10 min?), presumably to save the battery. It reconnects when you go to use it. Because it has motion sensors, it may wake up if it is just bumped or moved. If your remote disconnects and reconnects more often, you might have interference from other Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, etc. See if moving possible sources away from Apple TV helps.

I have the same problem with mine, tried disconnecting the Apple Tv, keeps disconnecting after 3 to 4 minutes even if I shake it, move it or come very close to the Apple TV. I have another Apple TV with a similar control but not 4K and it never did this and still works fine. I believe there might be a bug in the software that is causing this.

Any resolution to this issue? My Apple TV 4 remote has begun to do this as well. I’m not touching the remote at all and I have unplugged and replugged as well as reset the Apple TV without resolution.

My remote sits on the table besides me without touching it, disconnects and reconnect 3 to 4 times within 30 minutes.

As an FYI, I have the Apple TV (4th Generation), and I'm experiencing this issue.

This post has been up for nearly a year. I just started having the same issue. Tried remote in the same room, another room, on a charger and not on charger (all applicable combinations), same problem, every 5 min or so it disconnects and reconnects. Has anyone found a resolution to the issue?
