Manual Cleanup of Genieo
I've done this before but it's been a while ago .... I need a refresher course on a manual cleanup
of the adware Genieo ....? any help?

I notice that you've already marked this solved, but just to add one comment, Genieo infections have changed significantly over the past year, and I'm not aware of any site that has up-to-date removal instructions for the updated variants. Given the large number of different filenames and locations used by all the different Genieo variants, I wouldn't rely on manual removal at this point.
