Solution: Spotlight results in Error --> com.apple.Safari.History quit unexpectedly.
Thanks to SimonGoldCoast (SimonGoldCoast) , this works for me and others. I was seeing it on three different machines, all better now. No idea if it survives a Restart.
Go To: System Preferences -> Spotlight -> Search Results -> [uncheck: 'Bing Web Searches' & 'Bookmarks & History']
Up to you if you'll miss these and need to write a note to reenable after next Safari/Sytem update that may or may not fix this permanently.
[EDIT: For grins I reenabled 'Bookmarks & History' without a restart; Safari & Spotlight behaves as expected with no apparent drag or crash. I think flipping this toggle forces a rebuild of the 'Bookmarks & History' Spotlight database.
NOTE: This resolves the following:
Dyld Error Message:
Symbol not found: _initializeSandbox
Referenced from: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SafariShared.framework/Versions/A/XPCServices /com.apple.Safari.History.xpc/Contents/MacOS/com.apple.Safari.History
Expected in: /System/Library/StagedFrameworks/Safari/SafariShared.framework/Versions/A/Safar iShared
It also speeds the heck out of Spotlight results.
Cheers
