The italian page that comes up when I enter r-store in a search claims to be from an Apple reseller.

Apple resellers are required to buy a large dollar volume of Apple products every quarter, and in some cases they can offer Apple systems at prices lower than list price PROVIDED they bundle their own software with the Apple product. Some resellers take this commitment very liberally and bundle unrelated third-party products or different Apple products such as AppleCare at a reduced cost.

Resellers (as opposed to Apple-Authorized Service Providers) are not required to provide Service, so they make their own policies as to whether they would service your Mac if it develops a problem, and whether they offer 14-day free returns as Apple does.

As long as you buy from Apple or a legitimate Reseller, your warranty should be good worldwide.

Ask the reseller directly. They may be able to extend the discount to you.

Be sure to ask your education support people as well. There may be a special, unpublicized method for obtaining discounts through them. I have always been surprised that there are so many different ways to purchase Apple equipment, and each seems to have different conditions and prices.
