Does the mid-2012 MacBook Pro 13" - 'Non Retina' support 2560x1440 'WQHD' on External Monitor via miniDP ?
Hi, I have a Macbook Pro (mid 2012/ Non-Retina) with Intel 4000 graphics. I am running OS-X Yosemite 10.10.5 on this MBP.
I am considering to buy an external monitor and I am looking for 2560x1440 WQHD Display, 27" and my choices are :
- Iiyama ProLite B2783QSU-B1
- ASUS PB278Q
- Dell U2715H
Being a student on budget and using CAD applications, IIyama suits the best value for money, for it has Displayport, Pivot & Hight Adjustable screen. All the other monitors mentioned here too have display port and I would be considering a mini-Display Port to Display Port cable like Mini DP to DP Cable, Rankie® Gold Plated or Lenovo 0B47091 - miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort being sold on amazon.
Both the cables appear to work with Mac Min (2012) as read in some places with wQHD, but no information 13" MBP mid-2012 (non-retina) is available.
Does any one know who has been successful with such a setup, whether they will be able to run native resolution on external monitor? I would be happy to know the answers.
Thanks.
Faraz
