I'm having trouble where my fonts keep changing to a different typeface when I save out my file and send it to someone else. I tried packaging the file but the problem persists. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks so much in advance!
The person you are sending the file to needs to have the appropriate font loaded and available. Read these Apple Knowledge Base articles about Fonts and Font Book...
The problem is Keynote does not embed all fonts. So, if you are not using a standard font like Ariel or Times, etc. the fonts don't come across on the export. A work around that I have used is to select the Text Box containing the fonts, not just the text contents but the entire text box, and copy it to your clipboard and paste into Preview. In Preview, then export it to a PDF file and then delete the text box in your Keynote Presentation and drag and drop the PDF into the old text box location. It is a pain but it will work.
It should be noted that Powerpoint also has limited abilities to embed fonts as well.
They do have the correct fonts installed. Sorry, I forgot to mention this.
