Migration Assistant from FireWire to USB-C
I've just received my new 13" MacBook Pro late 2016 with touchbar. It's still in the box! I wish to migrate all my information from my nearly 7 year old 13" MacBook Pro mid 2010 running Mac OS 10.12.2 Sierra. But the 2010 MBP only has FW800 and cable Ethernet plus USB 2.0. The MBP-2016 has only USB-C / Thunderbolt 3.
SO: My question is: How best to use Migration Assistant with this configuration. (I have a FW800 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter -- so could I then purchase a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter and use FW800 with the MBP-2010 as the target disk to transfer things over to the MBP-2016??)
OR: An ethernet connection (need to get a USB-3 to Ethernet adapter?)
Or???
Thanks for any comments. After nearly 7 years there is no rush to do this tomorrow (but maybe Saturday?!?!)
