How do you make the up arrow/hat symbol used in some Apple keyboard shortcuts?

How do you make the up arrow/hat symbol used in some Apple keyboard shortcuts? For example, in iTunes audio books, the command for next chapter contains the ˆ symbol. It's bigger than this one, and looks like the end of an arrow pointing up. It's not the "hat" accent mark used in some languages, produced by typing Command i (as I did above).

I've searched the internet and find nothing about this symbol.

Thanks for helping!

If you mean "^", then it is SHIFT-6.
