keyboard is typing the wrong letters

The keyboard on my 15" Mac book pro [Sierra - Latest] has started typing the wrong letters. It doesn't even seem to be a language... Just random letters and symbols... Sometimes it types two at a time... I've checked the international settings, Keyboard etc... All as they should be. Shut Down & Restarted several times and it's the same... The Bluetooth keyboard works fine [I'm using it now - as you can see]... Help!

maybe the option key is stuck down. of you have selected a different region / language setting in System preferences? Maybe post a screenshot?

try doing a rest of your PRAM. See this link:

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the regions etc and they are as they should be.

I did wipe down the keyboard with a soft cloth that was ever so slightly damp... and the computer was off at the time. That made me check each key to see if there was one stuck or sticking... Nothing obvious...
