I hit begin walk and the time started. Now I can't stop it so my watch goes back to the home screen. Is there a way to do this so I don't have to delete and reinstall the app like I did the last time. (I love that the app records without the timer on the home page.)
I had this problem for a while....Whilst on the pedometer ++ screen on your iwatch, press down on the screen until the screen sort of shrinks and vibrates and an "end walk" message will appear. Tap the cross above it to stop timer.

In the Workout App when looking at stats swipe to the right and you will see "End" button.
