iPhone storage seems to be broken

My iPhone storage is constantly changing even when I don't take any new photos or download any apps. My current iPhone storage is below (I had to delet an app to take the screenshot). My apps only seem small compared to what can go on other people phone with the same storage, so I don't understand how they take up so much room!

Would be grateful if someone could advise me what to to many thanks! :)

Hello bawilliams123,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated and your screenshots, it seems you are having issues with storage on your iPhone. The amounts of storage taken up by apps in your screenshots are your personal data and settings for those apps, and you can also use iTunes to check your storage:

Check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Also, if you haven’t already, restart your iPhone as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iOS software running properly. iOS clears cached data and does other system optimizations when you turn your device off and on and can help recover some space on your iPhone.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Cheers!
