Sierra: Drag to application via the dock

I often need to drag files to an application via its dock icon. For example, dragging a mail attachment to a specific folder in the finder. Or dragging a text file from the finder to my text editor.

I am doing this by dragging the file onto the proper dock icon. That makes the windows of that application to pop-up after a delay (delay #1). Then I need to drag the file onto the proper window, and after another delay (delay #2), that window fully opens and I can drop the file.

Before Sierra, delay #1 and delay #2 where short (less than a second). With Sierra, delay #1 is still short, but delay #2 is now much longer (my feeling is 2 seconds at least). I did not see any setting to control that.

There is a setting in Accessibility/Mouse and Trackpad/Spring-loading delay, but I have this set already to the minimum.

Is there some other setting now ?

Thanks

Double-click speed

Adjust the mouse or trackpad’s reaction time when you double-click an item.

Spring-loading delay

Use the slider to specify how long an item has to be over a folder before the folder opens.

You should move the slider of spring - loading delay from minimum towards right hand side as , it should be fixed up to three fourth of the entire slider length .

An article for it : macOS Sierra: Mouse & Trackpad pane of Accessibility System Preferences

Also , check the box of sticky keys and all options shown in the second screen shot .

If you are using mouse click on mouse options shown with the red arrow and move the sliders to gain the speed & check the boxes for convenience .

Well I already have the spring loaded delay set to the minimum. Makes no difference. To be sure I tried to setting it to the longest, and I see no difference whatsoever. The delay remains the same (it does not even get longer). Looks like this setting is ignored ?

The trackpad and mouse options are set to default.

OK , fine this option is also checked , there is delay of very less time only 2 sec , as when you drag the first application it takes some time , there will be definitely a time gap whenever you drag another file , as time is moving faster in a forward direction , to move faster than time we have to follow Albert Einstein theories : space time bending theory , moving faster than the speed of light that is still practically not possible .

After using Sierra for some more weeks, I am still not happy with the reactivity of drag-and-drops. It is very slow also when dragging files between Finder tabs.

What's more, dragging a file to a dock icon sometimes also has no effect at all: the application does not open at all. And sometimes it opens, but the screen does not move to the desktop it opens (I am using multiple desktops). All together a miserable experience with a feature that used to work just fine thank you ...

Why is it that each upgrade of MacOS becomes an exercise in frustration as new regressions get introduced ...
