Troubleshooting Final Cut Pro 7 on Sierra

I'm running Sierra 10.12.2 and recently installed Final Cut Pro 7 (from Final Cut Studio.) Currently running into two problems:

1.) First attempt at Log & Capture and FCP7 crashes. Every attempt since has resulted in the same crash at the same point. I found some old DV tapes that would be fun to digitize/edit, but looks like no luck?

2.) Downloaded and installed the FCP 7.0.3 update (after learning the trick to right click -> open in order to get around the new security.) Download went through and Installation completed but FCP still says it's just running FCP 7 (not 7.0.3)

I'm hoping one of these problems may help me out with the other, but any help solving either of them would be greatly appreciated.* Thanks!

*Note: I've deleted my FCP Preferences in the secret library, and watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCIrsGYw21Ihttp://,

still scratching my head

1) FCP 7 was discontinued nearly 6 years ago.

2) When it was discontinued, the OS at the time was 10.6.8. That is the LAST OS that officially supported FCP 7 and all the Studio apps

3) Every OS update that comes out goes further away from supporting FCP Studio. Apple isn't taking into account their functionality when releasing new OS versions, because they are now only supporting FCX and the new Motion and Compressor.

4) Motion and Compressor (and parts of Color) from Final Cut Studio 3 stopped working when 10.9 came out.

If you need Final Cut Studio to work and be fully functional, you need to run it on an older computer that supports 10.6.8. You might even get away with 10.7 or 10.8...but I know that apps break at 10.9.

Sorry man, this is what happens when software is discontinued.
