Forgotten passcode for iphone 6

Hi,

I have forgotten my passcode for an iphone6 and when I follow the steps to erase the device with recovery mode as per instructions from the apple support site, I keep getting this message mid way through " itunes could not connect to iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode before it can be used with itunes" I obviously can't because I have forgotten it!

I have tried different cabled to connect, a different internet connection, a different computer. I have also followed a sugges

Any suggestions?

Hold down the sleep/power button simultaneously with the home button and when the apple appears release the sleep/power and continue to hold the home button and it will display "connect to iTunes" this will erase the phone.

Hopefully you have a backup

Thanks for the reply, I have followed this step, but the issue is that when attempting to restore through itunes, midway through the download I get the following message: "itunes could not connect to iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode before it can be used with itunes".

As mentioned, I have tried different cabled to connect, a different internet connection, a different computer.

Once you get the phone in recover (see pic) mode by holding down the buttons as mentioned earlier, it should not ask for the password for while restoring your phone.

Thanks for reply. Yes I did see that screen, however it is on iTunes where I am asked for the passcode for the phone ( in the midst of the recovery download ), not on the actual phone itself.

I have attached an image, hopefully it displays.

Schoners,

Is your backup on iTunes encrypted? If so, iTunes is asking for that password. If you do not remember your encrypted password, just keep trying using all possible values that you might have used. I don't believe that there is any limit.

Thanks, but have tried all of this, but no luck. While in recovery mode, after a while keep getting a message on itunes saying my passcode is required!
