iPhone disconnected during backup. Why?

I performed all the suggestions in If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support. Even tried two different cables. New iPhone 7 and all current levels except iPhone current update which I was trying to install.

iPhone 7, iOS 10.1.1
