Is there a way I can find out the last known location of a apple watch?
Yep. Go to iCloud.com, log in with the Apple ID and password associated with the Watch, and select the Find My Device app.

Yeah, the 'Find My Device' app works by locating the Watch when it connects to the internet. If it's off, there's not a whole lot to be done except wait for it to be turned on by someone.
Thanks, if you mean select 'find my device', I did this. However, the apple watch is offline and when I select it from the DEVICES dropdown menu (at the top of the map screen showing my other devices), it only shows the 'play sound', 'lost mode', and 'erase apple watch' options. Nothing about location. Your help is appreciated.

Too bad. The iphone has a 'last known location' feature that pings apple before the battery runs out. I guess this isn't so for the watch. thanks.
Log into your Find My iPhone and it should be there.
