How to determine if an Apple Watch is series 2?

Hello,

I am possibly going to attempt to buy a used Apple Watch from someone I know. Is there a way to physically tell if the Apple Watch is for sure a series 2? So I do not get ripped off with a series 1 or series 0

Look on the back. If it has the serial number on it it is a first generation that launched April 2015.

A series 1, 2 or Nike will have the model written on the back and the serial number is where the band attaches to the Watch not on the back.

You can look the serial number up on Apples Support site, under " check warranty status". You can confirm purchase date and when one year warranty expires, or it hasn't an extended warranty for 2 years.
