Create poster frame for movies

Hello,

is there a way to choose a thumbnail or poster frame for my movies? All my movies fade in from black and Photos takes the first frame as poster frame so my movie collection is only black thumbnails.

The thumbnails in Finder are also black so changing the poster frame in Finder one or the other way might also solve the issue.

thanks for any help!

Yes, you can set a poster frame in Photos. Open the video by selecting it and hitting the space bar. Advance the video to the frame you want to use as the poster frame.

Then click the gears icon in the video controls to show the editing tools and click "Set Poster Frame".
