windows can't be installed on drive 0 partition 4

I Am trying to install windows 10 on a Mac mini late 2012 (i5, 4gb ram and 500gb hard drive) and it's not working. When I get to "where do you want to install Windows?" It says Windows cannot be installed on drive 0 partition 4 and the details are windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can Only be installed to GPT disks.

i Have tried

shift f10

diskpart

list disk

but now 2 disks come up and none are the correct, disk 0 is 465gb and 0b free and disk 1 is 931gb and 0b free

i chose 100gb for Mac and 400 for Windows

(disk 1 is my usb)

Mac mini (Late 2012), macOS Sierra (10.12.2), null

I did manage to get it working.

I had to remove the partition completely via Disk Utility, then recreate it via Bootcamp Assistant.

It didn't like something in the original one.

This is normal and expected behavior as macOS cannot create a NTFS partition. It creates a FAT32 partition, which needs to reformatted as NTFS in Windows installer.

I have a late 2013 iMac and am getting the "Can't be installed on drive 0 partition 4" error.

It says the partition is formatted as FAT32 and it needs NTFS

The Windows .iso image is the 64bit version.

My USB stick is USB 2.

Any suggestions?

I'll call Apple tomorrow if I can't get it solved.

Yes - I gathered that from further reading.

I should have mentioned that I proceeded to format and the disk appeared to do so (BOOTCAMP part of the name disappeared).

However, when I pressed "Next", it said it couldn't find or create a partition.

Please buy a USB2 Flash drive, not a USB3. USB3 is not available till after BC drivers are fully installed.

Your 2012 Mini does not support EFI boot. Are you interrupting the Windows Installer restart using Alt/Option key? Also, do not connect any external storage during the entire installation process.
