MacBook Pro Repair Extension Program for Video Issues

So I took my MacBook Pro to the Apple Store today to confirm that it needed to be repaired because of the Video Issue. They confirmed that it definitely was that issue, but unfortunately, there was nothing they could do because they said my (Early 2011) MacBook Pro was too old and they do not carry the parts to fix it. My computer started displaying these issues while I was on a plan on December 31, 2016, which ironically was the last day of the Repair Extension Program. I would only assume there would be back stock of these parts to fix my computer seeing that the program just ended two weeks ago. The tech said my computer is in excellent condition and that the Logic Board needs to be replaced to fix this problem. I was told there was nothing that Apple could do to rectify this problem. He suggested I sell the computer for parts (that I definitely do not want to do). Is there anyway around this technicality for Apple to fix this issue, or am I stuck with a laptop shaped paper weight? The computer will not boot and I don't have an extra $2000 laying around for a new one.

This is a user to user forum with no Apple corporate presence. You have contacted Apple and have been advised of their policy regarding your MBP. There is nothing that we as users can do to alter your situation.

You might consider installing a replacement logic board yourself. Check the iFixit.com and Powwerbookmedic.com web sites for parts, prices and install instructions.

Ciao.

Hi again Brian,

My laptop is a MacBook Pro 15 late 2011, my contact was with Apple Spain that it were live.

I think you maybe would call Apple care again and told them that you complain them before then end of the year about the problem ( I didn't know if you really did it, I did many times and they didn't tell me about the video card replacement program.... they only told me to reset the VRAM )
