It wasn't the moderators who changed anything. It was autocorrect. "Sara" and "Sarah" are pronounced the same way in English. But, "Sarah" is the more common spelling.
But, I wasn't responding to you. I was responding to the person who claimed that Siri would answer to any name.
Siri will also answer to Cacey, she does so every time we call the dog (whose name actually IS Cacey). It's made Siri unusable. We've had to turn off the voice recognition on all devices to keep Siri from sounding off every time we tell the dog to do something. With the new HomePod coming out we were hoping to add it to the house, but without being able to rename Siri I don't think it will be possible. I'm not renaming the dog.
You cannot change Siri's name.
There is NO way to do this!
Apple names and programs Siri.
If you don't like the Siri name, take this up with feedback to Apple.

Siri will also answer to the name Sarah it freaks out my coworkers when I start talking to her and she reply’s
Siri answers to any name...

Oh? Then you must have a very special phone.
She answers to Sara, not any name. The dam moderators changed it!!!
It IS possible. My relative changed hers to a man's name and uses the male voice. No, I don't know HOW she changed the name, but I intend to find out. Just bothers me that an "impossible" message is posted and has been allowed to stay for so long.
That's not possible.
That is not changing Siri's name in the context of what users are asking. That allows one to use a different voice setting and language, but it doesn't change the name if you are using Siri.
It seems it is possible:

See "How to change Siri Voice"
No, it doesn't change the name. So the post is correct.
