Hey, I was trying to crop (not trim) the sides (width) so that my video fits into a smartphone screen. Is there a way to do it with Keynote? I know it is possible with Powerpoint, tried to do that in PPT and then export to Keynote, but the video becomes squashed after importing it into keynote. Any ideas?

Hey Gary, thanks for your reply. I probably stated the question unclearly. I wanted the video to fit a phone which is part of the design of the slide. Check it out below:) fixed it by manually cropping sides of the video with video editing software. Cheers!
Keynote does not have video editing tools to crop the video files.
However why do you need to crop? If you tansfer the video file to the iPad or iPhone using iTunes, it will play full screen using the Videos app.
When exporting from Keynote, select 720p for iPhone or 1080p for iPad.
