I downloaded game pigeon

I'm Having the same problem except its a little more complicated than that. I know how to send the game invite, but what ends up happening is i cant press play on my friend's response. Do you understand? it just comes up as a jpeg when i click on his message after he accepts the invite, and it just keeps saying waiting for opponent when i click on the original invite that i sent. Any suggestions as to whats wrong?

Open iMessage, open an active thread, tap the App icon, tap the 4 dots at lower left, tap the game.
