iPhone 7 Plus Bluetooth issue

Ever since I got my iPhone 7 Plus I have had issues with the bluetooth functionality. In my Acura TL I've never had connection issues with my iPhone 6, and the sound has always been great. But with my new phone the connection drops almost every 30 seconds and the sound comes across as muffled. If I plug the phone directly into the car's USB is sounds great and obviously doesn't drop. Also with my bluetooth headsets I can at least keep a connection longer than 30 seconds, but the sound is completely muffled. I use the same headsets on my Macbook Pro, it sounds great. I try the headsets with other devices, it sounds great.

Not sure what's going on, but any help would be appreciated.
