iPhone 6 Battery dies at 100 percent?

This problem suddenly occurred for my iPhone around a couple days ago. My battery has always been fine up until then.

When my phone is plugged in, it said my battery has a 100% and is fully charged (even according to a battery app I use). However, if I use it to play games for about 20 minutes, it suddenly shuts down and forces me to charge it.

Does anybody else have this problem? Even charging it overnight doesn't help boost its longevity.

I've tried restarting my phone, backing it up, setting the time and date to automatic, etc. (all the current solutions out there) and it still doesn't work.

There is indeed an issue with all iOS 10 versions at this point still, and Apple customer care is finally beginning to admit this. They have admitted a coding error is being worked on and to watch for updates beyond 10.2.

I've done a good amount of research on LiPo batteries over the years (very similar to Lithium-Ion)

being an RC car racer among other hobbies. I believe what is happening is the OS is creating an extreme draw on the battery through some app corruption and those with marginal batteries hit a lower point of charge and the sudden voltage drop near the end takes the phone to shut off mode. My battery checks fine, and I never had the 30% shutdown, but I did have 10% per hour drain in standby mode while running nothing.

So, after people with marginally good batteries update, they kick in the high drain from corrupt iOS code and experience the shutdown, and those with decent batteries just notice a very short charge life and warm to hot phones. Now, that brings up an issue we all will have to watch for. Battery failure will now be more widespread since the #1 cause of battery failure is HEAT and rapid drain. My point is, keep an eye out for updates, and also watch for phone getting warm. Check Settings > Battery regularly and watch for offending apps causing high drain as the coding errors are still in our phones. I also recommend the free battery app called "Battery Life" (it is the green icon version as there are at least 2 with that name), and check your battery condition and temp on a regular basis to help reduce the chance of further failure.

Also keep in mind that the higher draining apps that you are running, then the worse the problems you will experience.

Hey guys I think I've stumbled upon a temporary fix while fooling around with my iPhone. I'm not sure which method was the one that kinda fixed my issue, but I'll list some steps I've done.

Method 1. I've turned my phone off and on again (manual shutdown, hold power button and swipe shut down) multiple times in a row (without it being plugged in). Also threw in some manual restarts too.

Method 2. Plugged my iPhone into my laptop and manually backed up all my files on iTunes. (Maybe the forced syncing re-synced the battery life to normal?

So far, my battery life is at 56 percent and is not dead.

**Also, I've noticed that upon doing one of those methods (or both), my home button glitched out. Meaning that when I press it once, absolutely nothing happens. So I'll just need to press it twice just to get back to my home screen. Not sure if it's just random or correlated with my methods.

Anybody else who has this issue, can you tell me if my methods worked or not?

I've the same Problem.
iPhone 6 iOS 10.2

My phone worked normal, also with 10.2. Last Week i noticed that the Phone is at 16% so i Plugged in for Charging. The Displayy immediately jump to 24%. Since this Time, Battery is allways on 100%.

I tried to recalibrate it. Discharged until power off, recharged to 100%, discharged again until power off, recharged again to 100%. After that it worked for 2 days before it kepp showing 100% all time again.

Today i tried to restart the phone immediately after charging. Hope this work as a workaround.

I'm wodering because if this Problem is caused from iOS, why it isn't occured immediately after iOS-Update?
And why it occured suddenly withot changing anything. I've not installed any new App and did not change the use of the phone.

In my Appstore there are 2 With ident Green Icons and both are free 😕
Both seems to be the same but they differ in values of Battery.

One is from "Nga Nguyen" the other from "Robert Tkotzyk"

Which one do you suggest?
Thank you!

And as an update to my last Post:

The Workaround "restarting Phone after full charged" worked for me. Battery now at 44%. Thats realistic and equal to the Values the Battery showed before the "Problems".
