Merge midi regions

In Logic X 10.2.4 on a midi track.

How do you take a midi region and merge it with another so that the data from the region you have moved is incorporated into the other region?

Is there still a merge command in Logic X as in Logic 9?

I have set Record > Overlapping Midi Regions > Merge but when moving regions on top of each other one is destoyed in the process and all of it's midi data is lost.
