SMCfancontrol, Rosetta stone and the 'book

So heres the gist of it.

Rosetta Stone is eating up 99% of my cpu. Don't know why.

The fans spool up to 6300 rpm.

I turn on SMCfancontrol, set it to 2300 RPM and nothing happens at all. The fans still spin at whatever speed they want.

<EDIT> I'm an idiot, I had a complete misunderstanding of what SMC did. My fault.

Anyway, the fans aren't allowing me to properly use the speaking portion of this program.

Anyone have any idea why Rosetta is sucking all the processor. I know its a PowerPC build, but still I dont remember having this issue on the CD units.
