As there is no way to downgrade, your time might be better spent trying to resolve whatever problems you're having. what do you mean by "something is not right"? What actual problems are you having? What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
It doesn't matter which iOS is/was "best" for your device (or any other device for that matter). You are on iOS 10.2 and that's where the device will remain unless it is updated again in the future.
You cannot go back to any previous version of iOS. The update path is just that...an update path.
