iPhone 5 Battery dies in Cold Weather

Hey I got my iPhone 5 replaced about a year ago because the battery didn't hold a charge at all. But now I've had a different 5 for a while and if I bring it outside I will die within 10 minutes (Although the temperature where I live gets really cold.) But a few minutes after I bring it back inside it will turn on and it tells me that the battery ifs near full. I also have an issue where the battery percentage will jump up a lot or decrease even thou its not plugged in or being used.

Apple won't replace the phone again and I don't really know what to do. If anyone know that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Extreme temperatures will slow down the performance of any battery. This goes for your iPhone battery as well as for the battery of a car, for example.

Avoid extreme ambient temperatures.

Your device is designed to perform well in a wide range of ambient temperatures, with 62° to 72° F (16° to 22° C) as the ideal comfort zone. It’s especially important to avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures higher than 95° F (35° C), which can permanently damage battery capacity. That is, your battery won’t power your device as long on a given charge. Charging the device in high ambient temperatures can damage it further. Even storing a battery in a hot environment can damage it irreversibly. When using your device in a very cold environment, you may notice a decrease in battery life, but this condition is temporary. Once the battery’s temperature returns to its normal operating range, its performance will return to normal as well.
