Change my iPhone number?

Hi!

I'm trying to change my iPhone 7 phone number.

I purchased the phone with a temporary number, and asked my carrier to recover my previous phone.

My phone currently has my old phone for calls, but when I look into "My Number" it has the temporary number.

This temporary number is also displayed in:

Phone App > Contacts > My Number (Top of list)

Settings > Phone > My Number

iTunes > iPhone 7 > My Number

I've tried changing it in the "Setting > Phone > My Number" but it's greyout out / blocked; and i can't click it to modify it there.

HOW CAN I UPDATE MY IPHONE'S "MY NUMBER" TO MY NEW PHONE NUMER?

My iPhone runs iOS 10.2.

I DON'T WANT TO RESTORE MY PHONE TO FACTORY SETTINGS OR FROM A BACKUP. (IF POSSIBLE)

iPhone 7, iOS 10.2

Hi ricardoberbor !

This should fix your issue:

> 1 => Unregister from FaceTime / iMessage,

> 2 => Remove the Simcard prior doing an iTunes backup,

> 3 => Restore the phone as new,

> 4 => Put the Simcard back in and Go through setup assistant without restoring the backup,

> 5 => The right number should show up under > Settings > Phone > My number,

> 6 => If you did your iTunes backup without the sim in it you can restore it to the phone,

You can't just change the phone number of your phone like that.

Your number is set when you put your sim card in the phone and the sim card gives you the number that can't be changed unless you put another sim card in your phone.

You need to wait for your carrier to port your number over which normally takes about a week. There is nothing you can do - you need to wait for your carrier to do it.
