how do i fix a font problem in preview

I'm trying to edit (remove pages from) a PDF from a volunteer group I work with. The PDF looks fine on the volunteer group-provided Dell running Windows 7, but I can't delete any pages from the PDF.

I can delete using Preview, but when I look at the document in preview, one of the fonts doesn't render correctly, and loses formatting. It changes to a font that looks like old school typewriting, and runs off the page or superimposes over other text. When printed from the Mac, the font problem is still there.

I've tried editing out the undesired pages in Preview on the Mac, then e-mailing the file to the Dell and printing, but the font problem is saved into the edited PDF and is in the print set.

I prefer to edit and print from the Mac if that's possible, or to find a way to edit the original PDF, without corrupting the font, on the Dell.
