why does IPhoto say my phone is locked when it is not?

My IPhoto will not upload any photos from my IPhone 5c, it says the phone is secured with a passcode, I have turned the passcode off and still it says it's locked

Did you also check your Touch ID settings?

Any restrictions set up in Settings/General/Restrictions?

Can you sync with iTunes on your computer?

Did you try to connect via USB when the Lock screen is not active?

Did you check the docking port for any kind of debris or lint?

Does restarting the phone or force restarting the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back, change the situation?

thanks for your response, i have tried to connect via USB when the Lock screen is not active, I cannot sync with iTunes as it says "iTunes could not connect to the phone because an invalid response was received from the phone. I have checked in settings/general/restrictions and nothing there.

A few things to try:

Force restart, as explained above, you will not lose data, but this can cure some glitches.

Any chance you have a second, original USB cable you could use?

Is your iTunes updated to the latest version?

If using a USB hub, try connecting directly to your computer.

No didn't work, but with iCloud I imported the photos, now I just need to find them on the laptop as I am not technology minded. I checked for updates and none were available so I am assuming iTunes is up to date. Thanks again for trying to help I really do appreciate your time.
