I need help with my iPad A1567. I have not been able to find useful or appropriate beginner tutorials. Where are they please? Most of all I would like to copy and paste in gmail. I will appreciate your help, as at the moment the iPad is only an unpleasant reminder that I am $900 poorer, for no good outcome. I know the problem is my lack of understanding.

Select the manual or manuals that you want, and you can then download the PDF for reading.
Here is a snippet from the 1st manual for iPads running iOS 10 regarding the cut and paste:
Select text. Tap the insertion point to display the selection options. Or double-tap a word to select it. Drag the grab points to select more or less text. In read-only documents, such as webpages, touch and hold to select a word.
You can cut, copy, or paste over selected text. With Universal Clipboard, you can also cut or copy something on one Apple device, and paste it on another.

It did, regards text editing in Gmail, not solve my problem. I have put the instruction manual in iBooks, for other times when it may prove useful.
