A newest iPad Pro is a bit different than an older Pro.

• If the screen doesn't rotate on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod ...

If the screen doesn't rotate on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch...

If you see in the status bar, Orientation Lock is on. To turn it off ...

Without knowing variables, such as if you'd paired the iPad Pro with

bluetooth keyboard, or not; this could cause similar issue. The most

drastic way to remove such an issue, would be to reset/restore iPad.

{Better if a lesser step - in settings - can restore basic functions.}

Good luck & happy trails! 🙂

There are areas of the touch surface the cursor location may be placed

which would increase the odds of the keyboard working; and icons or

other visible items that appear on the lower edge of display. Depending

on where you tap or touch, the luck of it may help activate keyboard.

And several sites online dance around the issue with various ideas, of

which one is, if you happen to have/had a Bluetooth keyboard in use

it may not have disconnected and may be interfering with built-in one.

There are other perhaps 'helpful' sites with info. Also there may be

a single page in Apple Support where these are officially covered.

While I've an iPad Mini (early, likely 2013) I found some items on screen

don't work so well; and I've shelved this unit for now. It was gifted me.

Not sure what the attraction is to be rubbing all over the place, either.

{I did find an inexpensive Stylus (promotional, free) with inkpen attached

that may help me to get the touch-screen to work for me. A cheap

Android 7-inch tablet I was given last year had same problem. I'm set

to give that away to another touch-fool, and will include a stylus with it.}

Be sure the screen is carefully cleaned on occasion with appropriate cloth

& not dampened; it may help to experiment with products for effectiveness.

From my limited experience, between the android tablet and iPad, I'm not

a big touch screen fan. I've not the time for mucking about w/o results.

Good luck & happy trails! 🙂
