how can I move pics from messages to my Photos

I you use Photo Stream, pictures from Messages/Messenger/WhatsApp etc automatically appear in Photo Stream.

On a iPad or iPhone hold your finger on the photo then tap Save at the bottom.

For the Mac where you ask right click on the photo in iMessage and select add to Photos
