ZeppeZeppelin Air Speaker connection problems with ios10

HI

Since upgrading to ios10 on both iphone and ipad I can no longer get a consistent connection with my B&W Zeppelin Air speaker.

The ios10 upgrade sees the traditional airplay symbol being used solely for Apple TV now, so we have to swipe left after swiping up to get at the music screen to view wireless speakers in there. The problem is I can only see my iphone or ipad (whichever I am using) on the list.

However, I have found that if I completely reset my Zeppelin speaker and reconnect it as a new device to the wifi it will appear for a short time in the music screen, but it will only play one song and if left on standby and silent for a short period the symbol disappears and I'm back to square one..

I note other similar topics relating to this issue with different speakers. Please can Apple sort this as this speaker was expensive, I love it and wish to continue using it as intended.

Hello Bob Carolgees,

After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are having trouble maintaining a stable Bluetooth connection between an accessory and both an iPhone and iPad. Since it will connect and play a song, then disconnects, and a restart reconnects it to the Wi-Fi, it sounds like there may be some wireless interference in the environment. I would recommend you read this article and use it to help troubleshoot the issue.

HI Allen, thanks for your reponse. There is no Bluetooth involved with this as the Zeppelin air speaker works through wifi. However, you mentioned possible interference from another device, does such interference also apply to wifi? I installed a new doorbell about a week ago which works via wifi so maybe the signals are clashing, what do you think?

Yes there can be channel interference on WiFi. Find out which channel your doorbell is using and see if you can set it to one channel and change it. If not check your Zeppelin manual for the same item, i.e. setting a channel.
