Where is password of wifi stored? In sim or phone?

Hi, my old phone is iphone 5s which is connected to wifi with password then i change my phone to new iphone 6plus i used my old sim in phone 5s. When im in the area of wifi, my iphone 6 plus detected the wifi and my iphone 6plus is connected.

My question: how my iphone 6plus is connected without enter wifi password.

However, your Wi-Fi passwords and settings for all known networks( all networks that your phone did connect to at some point in the past) can be erased from the phone if you reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset.

After that you will have to put in the password for every Wi-Fi you want to contact to once again, after that you will be connected automatically again, if you did not disable this feature in Settings/Wi-Fi/Auto connect to known networks.

Thank you very much for prompt reply. I really dont know what happen why my new phone still connect to the wifi been connected to my old phone i just used same sim card and apple id, when i reach that area of wifi i automatically connected. My friend that believe on me on this case, just want to proved that i dont really enter password of the wifi i just connected. Thanks. Please help.
