Final Cut Pro X // Letterbox issue

Hi Everyone,

Question regarding letter boxing : I'm trying to edit a clip with FCPX (10.1.3) , OS being Sierra 10.12.2.

BUT as you will see below, when I'm trying to add letter boxing, nothing is happening, nothing in the preview, nothing in the final, and the "Offset" item has just disappeared...

Anybody could help me fix that ? Thanks a Lot ! 🙂

10.1.3 is a rather old version. It is not surprising if it does not fully work in Sierra.

That said, there is another possible explanation. What is the frame size, spatial conform setting and scale of the clip to which you are applying letterboxing?

If for example, it is a 4K clip in a 1080 project, with spatial conform set to None, then letterboxing would all fall outside the frame, so it would appear as if it wasn't there.
