my MacBook Pro is stuck deleting a User Account. How do I fix it?

I force quit the preferences window and it worked fine.

You have gone to system preferences & selected a account , clicked on minus sign & chosen save the home folder in a disk image .

This will archive all the user’s documents and information so the user can be restored later if needed. The disk image is saved in /Users/Deleted Users/. it will take time to restore the contents as data size may be large , let it be completed .

I have the same issue with a Macmini (2011). I have removed an account using the option to keep the user folders as a disk image. I can see the disk image has been created half an hour ago, yet I can’t close system preferences. What is the solution to this @apple?

I chose to delete home folder and i have the exact same problem w :/

Created an admin account " see " selected it and clicked on [ -] minus sign and checked the box of delete home folder > clicked on delete user it was immediately deleted .

How long should this take? Approximately. It's been a few days....

I have this same issue, and it has been 'saving the directory' for days now. Did you force close the window, and if so did it cause any problems for you?

Its a August month and the process would be completed .
