in photos if location coordinates are zero cannot edit them

I have upgraded to El Capitan and hence photos.

After importing my iPhoto8 libraries I find that where the location was defined as a user place the coordinates are set to zero and the pin is positioned at the Greenwich meridian on the equator. However, photos is stuck in a loop searching for location information for this point so I can neither edit nor move the pin to the correct location.

How can I reset the location information?

I am unable to run iPhoto8 and iphoto9 is no longer available.

Have you upgraded to the latest version of El Capitan?

This version of Photos on El Capitan supports to set locations manually.

The coordinates 0.0, 0.0 are indeed problematic in Photos. There are too many location names containing these coordinates, and Photos does not recognize them as latitude and longitude.

Remove the location assigned by iPhoto with "Image > Remove location", then enter it again by writing it differently.

Try to write the coordinates with the "Degrees" sign:
