how to cancel an overnight ios update installation

Product is iPhone 5s

I selected the

iOS 10.2 overnight update option but I want to cancel it

The option for cancelling the scheduled update is no longer available. What do I do?

No it will not remove the option of updating completely. If you want to update at a later time, simply check for the update again under Settings/General/Software Update to update wirelessly from the device itself or you can update via your Mac/PC using iTunes.

Won't this remove the option of updating completely? Is there a way of stopping the update today but still have that option available?

Delete the iOS update app under:

Settings/General/Stoage & iCloud Usage/Storage/Manage Storage. Allow the list to populate fully, then find the iOS Update app, tap on it, then tap on the Delete App button.

Without the update app no longer sitting in your device's storage, the update will no longer take place.
